Who we are looking for
- A pastor whose life reflects a deep, ongoing relationship with God, and whose character
is shaped according to biblical values (1 Tim 3 and Titus 1). - A pastor who has a lived experience of discipleship and disciplemaking, and is excited to
see the Great Commission worked out in the local church. - A pastor who has lived experienced of inter- and cross-cultural ministry.
- An associate pastor who will grow into a leadership role over the next 3+ years.
- Candidates should be open to being ordained as Minister of the Word in the Christian
Reformed Church of North America.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Preaching & Worship
- Preach once a month initially, with increasing frequency over time.
- Shape and sharpen liturgical worship of the English service.
- Equip and empower worship team(s) for Sunday service, Young Adults Fellowship, and
other worship occasions as necessary. - Conduct baptism, communion, marriages and funerals as part of the worship life of the
church.
- Discipleship & Disciplemaking
- To be a disciple and to make disciples.
- Journey alongside key leaders, discerning their developmental needs and equipping
them for ministry. - Review and run courses that equip and edify congregants, such as Alpha, Read the Bible
for Life and the Sanctuary Course. - Develop a system of pastoral care for the English ministry.
- Disciple a specific demographic within the congregation: parents of young children.
- Missional Engagement
- Develop and launch the second English Service.
- Cultivate sustainable local missions and social justice initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Must have God's calling to church ministry.
- Subscribe to and agree with ICRC’s Statement of Faith.
- Graduate from a recognized seminary
- Fluency in spoken and written English
- Previous pastoral/church ministry experience with preference for leadership experience at a ministry and/or congregation level
- Holds a passionate vision for a multi-generational and multi-ethnic church
