Volunteer Opportunities

Please read through and select the roles that you would be interested in volunteering for. You may select more than one.

Levels of urgency:

: There is currently only one person really looking at this. If this person is unwell, or away, church operations will be impacted
: There are multiple persons looking at this, but more are needed to prevent burnout
: To support future expansion, more volunteers are needed

Communications (Bulletin)

Enabling congregants to navigate Sunday worship and create meaningful, God-inspired liturgies that correspond to the weekly sermon/theme

What to Expect:

- Serve once every 2 weeks
- Compile weekly announcements
- Ensure weekly bulletin material corresponds with events for that particular Sunday (e.g. when choir sings)
- Work with Isabel (who will be in charge of writing the call to worship/prayers)
- Send bulletin to church office for printing, create and send email newsletter, upload announcements to website

Requirements:

- Able to use Google Suite
- Have a keen eye for detail

Communications (Proclaim)

Enabling congregants to navigate Sunday worship

What to Expect:

- Serve once every 2 weeks

Requirements:

- Willing to be trained on Proclaim
- Have a keen eye for detail

YAF Volunteers (Teaching)

Raising up the next generation to love God and others

What to Expect:

- Attending weekly, teach once or twice a month
- Once every three months meeting

Requirements:

- Able to use Google Suite
- Have a keen eye for detail

Marriage Mentors

Walking alongside couples in every season of life

What to Expect:

- Marriage mentor training
- Meet with another couple once a month (2 hrs)

Requirements:

- Have been married for >5 years
- Good listening skills, open sharing

Church Information Management (use case development)

Equipping the church for digital transformation

What to Expect:

- Development of 1 use case per month

Requirements:

- Experienced with data management systems and processes
- Able to document work processes

Website development

Equipping the church for digital transformation

What to Expect:

- Update/maintenance of church website
- Addition of new pages/functionality

Requirements:

- Experienced with web development

Worship Leader

Drawing congregants to glorify God in worship

What to Expect:

- Serve once a month
- Worship practice (1 hour a month)

Requirements:

- Have a consistent personal worship life
- Baptized member

Worship (Musician, Backup singer)

Drawing congregants to glorify God in worship

What to Expect:

- Serve once a month
- Worship practice (1 hour a month)

Requirements:

- Have a consistent personal worship life
- Baptized member

Worship (Scripture Reader Scheduler)

Enabling congregants to hear God's Word

What to Expect:

- Secure scripture readers once preaching schedule is updated once a quarter.

Requirements:

- Able to use Google Suite
- Have a keen eye for detail

Usher

Welcoming congregants to Sunday worship

What to Expect:

- Serve twice a month
- Arrive at 11:15 am

Requirements:

- Have a desire to welcome fellow congregants to worship God

KidsConnect Volunteers

Raising up the next generation to love God and others

What to Expect:

- Volunteer once a month (Friday 7:15 to 9:30pm).
- Do games, lead worship, crafts or teach God's truth.

Requirements:

- Baptized member (if teaching)

Sunday School Teachers

Raising up the next generation to love God and others

What to Expect:

- Volunteer twice a month (10:00-11:15 or 11:15-12:40).
- Teach God's truth.

Requirements:

- Enjoys working with children
- Baptized member

Sunday School Teaching Assistants

Raising up the next generation to love God and others

What to Expect:

- Volunteer twice a month (10:00-11:15 or 11:15-12:40).
- Befriend our children.

Requirements:

- Enjoys working with children

SALT Volunteers (Teaching)

Raising up the next generation to love God and others

What to Expect:

- Willing to take time to spend with the youths on top of the weekly fellowship timing
- Baptized

SALT Volunteers (Befriending)

- Data import and data entry

Special Events Coordinator

Bringing the whole church community together, one event at a time

What to Expect:

- Plan and implement church-wide events

Requirements:

- Interest in event planning
- Have a keen eye for detail

Worship (A/V)

Enabling Sunday worship, bringing church into homes

What to Expect:

- Serve once every 2 weeks
- Worship practice (1 hour each week)

Requirements:

- Interest in videography, sound system

Worship (Scripture Reading)

Enabling congregants to hear God's Word

What to Expect:

- Read scripture once every 6-8 weeks

Requirements:

- Pre-reading assigned passage to identify phrases and words that deserve special emphasis.
